Terms
The terms, in plain language.
By using read[dot] you agree to what's below. It's short on purpose.
What read[dot] is
read[dot] is a daily edition of links to articles, papers and newsletters published by other people. We show a headline, a short description, an image and a line on why a piece was chosen for you. The articles themselves live on the publishers' own sites.
The articles belong to their publishers
We don't own, host or edit the work we link to. Each publisher's own terms apply when you read on their site, including any paywall or subscription. We pick sources carefully, but we can't vouch for every claim in every piece, and we're not responsible for what publishers write or for their sites.
How the selection works
An automated system, including a language model, chooses and orders each edition and writes the short “why you're seeing this” lines. It can get things wrong. Nothing on read[dot] is financial, legal, medical or any other professional advice.
Your account
You sign in with your Google account, and the account is for you alone. Keep it secure, and tell us if you think someone else is using it.
Fair use
Use read[dot] for your own reading. Please don't copy or resell editions in bulk, scrape the site, or try to break, overload or get around how it works. We may suspend accounts that do.
Price
read[dot] is free for now. If that changes, we'll tell you well in advance, and nothing you haven't agreed to will ever be charged.
Changes, and leaving
read[dot] is young and will change: features may come and go, and we may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll say so on the site or by email. You can stop any time: unsubscribe from the email, or write to us and we'll delete your account and your data.
The fine print
read[dot] is provided as it is, without guarantees that it will always be available or error-free. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses that come from using it. Nothing here limits rights you have under the law where you live.
